How do Water Butts work?
Water butts are best placed somewhere in your garden near a downpipe. You then simply connect the water butt to the downpipe using a rain diverter by cutting a small section from the pipe. The raindiverter works by diverting rainwater running down the downpipe into the water butt. Once the water butt is full the diverter means that rainwater will simply flow down the downpipe into the drain as it would usually, stopping your water butt from overflowing.
