For those of you who want to store more water than the average water butt, a water storage tank is ideal. Water tanks generally store from 700l up to a massive 6000l+and come in all shapes and sizes. Some storage tanks are sited above ground, where others can be buried underground and used in combination with a water pump.

Harcostar 700l Water Butt (Rainwater Storage Tank)

Collect and store 700 litres (150 gallons) in this rain water tank. Made from tough reinforced plastic, it measures 65x150x85cm high and includes a tap and screw-on cap.

At the back of the water butt, about 5cm (2in) from the top, there is a hole for a rain trap connection pipe.

There is also a hole at the bottom on this particular model, just below the tap, which allows the tap to be moved to different positions depending on whether you have it on a stand or on the ground. Extra plugs are provided to block up any unwanted holes.

This water butt comes with a 5-year manufacturer's warranty.

A giant of a wall tank, storing a massive 2000 litres of filtered rainwater. It has has a 3/4 inch brass tap 30cm above ground to fill a watering can. At each end there is a 1" BSP thread near ground level, so that you may You may also inter-connect these tanks. The tank is sealed. Filling with rainwater is via a 3P filter collector and connector set supplied with the tank) from your square or round downpipe. This is connected using up to 50cm of the spiral 1 1/4" Hose supplied (and should to be cut to length) from the Filter.

200l Rain Water Storage Water Tank

Water is a limited and precious resource which we often take for granted. Each year more and more Water Authorities are enforcing hosepipe bans when your garden needs it the most.

Help is at hand with these stylish water tanks that have been designed to blend in with the garden (unlike many other water butts).

Each tank arrives flat packed and is easy to assemble. The wooden slats are high-pressure-impregnated with a brown wood preservative, but can even be recoloured if prefered. The wooden construction also protects the high quality moulded liner and keeps the liner perfectly round too.

The tank can be also used in all weather conditions as snow and ice won't damage the tank.

Ideal for using with a submersible water butt pump and although it doesn't have a tap one can easily be installed. There is also an optional cover which is especially useful if there are kids around, and it also keeps insects, leaves and dirt out of the tank. The cover is hinged down the middle for easy access.

Available also is a filter which can be installed on to downpipes to collect water from your roof. The filter can be fitted to pipes 70-100mm in diameter and has a manual overflow function to stop the tank from overfilling. You will need a length of connector pipe to reach from the down pipe into the rain storage tank.
